We are pleased to announce that Citrus Mortgages will be supporting local charity, Willen Hospice throughout 2019.
Being a local charity, every member of our team knows the importance of the great work and excellent care that Willen Hospice provide for individuals and families across Milton Keynes.
The team is very proud to be supporting them and they are all looking forward to the upcoming fundraising events.
About Willen Hospice
Willen Hospice provides specialist care for adults in Milton Keynes and the surrounding areas whose illness no longer responds to curative treatment (also known as specialist palliative care).
Located at a lakeside area close to Central Milton Keynes, Willen Hospice provides services to three Primary Care Trusts – Milton Keynes, Bedfordshire and Northamptonshire.
How is Willen Hospice funded?
For Willen Hospice to continue offering care, their funding needs to raise about £4.7million every year. If you break this down, Willen Hospice need to raise around £9 every minute from the local community.
Please visit their website for more information about how you can help: www.willen-hospice.org.uk
How Citrus Mortgages will help
Starting with a firewalk in March, the Citrus Mortgages team are looking forward to helping raise much needed funds for Willen Hospice throughout the year.
The fiery event takes place on Friday 1st March 2019. Please support us in raising funds.
What is Firewalking?
Firewalking involves barefoot walking on a path that is covered with hot coals. Originating from India and China, ancient activity for firewalking dates back as far as the Iron Age which was around 1200BC.
More information about firewalking can be found on the Willen Hospice website, where they recently interviewed Scott Bell, a former Guinness World Record holder for the World’s Longest Firewalk. Click here to read the interview.
Now that you know a little more about firewalking, the following brave (or stupid!) members of the team at Citrus Mortgages are taking part in the firewalk at Willen Hospice on Friday the 1st March:
Nick, Gavin, Emma, Paul, Dale, Andrew, Andre, David, Vivien and Laura.
We would really appreciate any donation to this amazing local charity. All donations will be hugely appreciated.
